Punk Rock
Among all different music genres trough history, there is one that really stands up by its own firm roots and laws (if it has such things), and that is punk rock. Punk rock is a 70&;s music movement, originated in the United Kingdom, and it truly managed to change the way of seeing and experimenting life and society for many, many teenagers. Suddenly there were young boys, just like them, rocking hard, energetic, loose rhythms and shouting all those words they thought about but couldn&;t express. This was the movement that influenced a whole new generation to start thinking for themselves and question the status quo. Read on and find out more here at Bunnybrains.net.
Punk rock is believed to be strongly influenced by garage-rock, since they both rely on the thought of independent, capitalism-free ideas, and the powerful energy of liberating your existence trough art and thinking. Other than this ideology, the main musical attributes of punk rock are a fast beat drumming, hard-edge music, short songs and anti-establishment lyrics that were facts of life for young people; they saw in punk rock bands the real deal, the heroes they wanted to follow. The heroes we&;re talking about, here at Bunnybrains.net are the names such as: The Ramones, The Sex Pistols and The Clash were the first punk rock bands that emerged and they took this new genre to the farthest creative limits, but without much commercial success. That elusive goal was to be achieved by a new wave of softer-edged bands such as The Offspring and Green Day.
This music had its burst into the underground scene around 1976, when its popularity was increasing in both sides of the Atlantic, finding massive support in New York. Due to the raw energy it delivers, punk rock inspires a great deal of feelings and emotions into youngsters who listen to it. That is why so many teenagers become widely attracted to this movement and turn it into a lifestyle. Wearing genre-identifying clothes and accessories makes them feel like they belong to a group of like-minded individuals. Rebellious music indeed, but the revolution it aims at is that of freedom through the basic simplicity of rock n roll. No complex guitar solos or long instrumental compositions; just direct, bare and strong music from the heart and mind. Although punk rock bands have been around for a short period in the history of music, they have already formed a solid and large fan base around the world that helps to keep this genre alive.
Hopefully this brief overview of this particular genre can help visitors of Bunnybrains.net to learn more about its impact in the music scene, and also make them want to find out more.
