First founded as a couple&;s project in 1987, the Bunnybrains was born thanks to Elisa Flynn and Bobby Bunny in Westchester county, NY. Both of them shared the desire to create a music project that was completely different from what was going on right then, presenting something new to the hardcore punk rockers and art school students in town. Their started doing so in the basement of Bobby Bunny&;s aunt in Danbury, Connecticut, where they started recording a few songs which will later lead to some of the best albums. After a short time, Elisa Flynn left to pursue her personal musical projects, but Bonny Bunny still wanted to continue with the band, so he sought the help of Malcolm Trent, owner of a punk culture shop in Connecticut and TPOS record label. After only a few hours together, they managed to come up with a simple 6 song demo, later included in some of the best albums, all found at Bunnybrains.net.
The local talent at Danbury, CT at the time was quite limited, which meant that a band member might also be part of other musical projects. The Bunny Brains was no exception to the rule and this was the way they met Eg The Poet, also known as Dan Seward, who became they newest member of the band who would later be responsible of some of their best albums. This is how they first came to be, with Bobby, Malcolm and Dan as initial members. Throughout this time, they recorded some of their best albums. After this, Bobby and Malcolm had artistic differences with Dan and the band went into a pause and the first members started working on their own projects. Dan, on the other hand, moved to Boston and decided to keep promoting the band on his own, with a new musical approach and creating the best albums possible. This eventually led to the recording of several best albums, such as “For You&;d Kill” in 1991, “I&;m Obsessed with My Looks” in 1992, “74 Minutes” in 1993) and “1989-1992” also in 1993, which was a small recompilation of the original line up. With “You Got It” (1994) and “T Ohnny” (1994), the new line up was properly introduced. Afterwards, the Bunnybrains released slightly different albums with a more mature sound, like “Bunny Magick” (1994) and “Bunny Brains Easter LP” (1995). Finally, in 2004, “Box The Bunny”, a 4 CD collection, was released as a review of their entire career.
